At least five people, including a minor girl, were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail, Mymensigh and Jamalpur districts on Wednesday, our district correspondents and news agency reports.
New Age correspondent in Tangail reports: a passer-by was killed on the spot when a pickup van hit him on Bhuiyapur-Tarakandi road under Bhuiyapur upazila Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Amir Ali, 40, son of Mobarak Ali, of Arjuna union under the same upazila.
Bhuiyapur police station’s officer-in-charge Abdus Salam Mia said Amir’s dead body was handed over to his relatives after autopsy at Tangail General Hospital.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reports: two people, including a police constable, were killed when a truck hit stationed human haulers at Digarkandia Bypass intersection in the city Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Gazipur district Detective Branch of police constable Saiful Islam, 40, and Abul Hashem, 25.
Mymensingh sadar police station’s officer-in-charge Atiqul Islam said the accident took place around 7:00am when a truck hit four stationed human haulers in the area, leaving nine people injured.
The injured were brought to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where two of them died after admission, Atiqul said.
A man and a minor girl were killed while five others injured following a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway in Chankanda area of the municipality Wednesday morning, United News of Bangladesh reports.
One of deceased was identified as Mosharaf Hossain, 42, son of Mofazzal Hossain, of Fulbaria Munshipara in the district town while another is an eight-year old girl.
Md Nasimul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said the accident took place in the area around 8:30am, leaving seven injured.
Among the injured, two died on way to hospital, Nasimul said.
