Large Taxpayers Unit (VAT) of the National Board of Revenue of Bangladesh on Monday launched a mobile application to facilitate large taxpayers getting tax related information and services easily and quickly.
Anyone will have access to the app for availing information including all activity of the LTU, VAT deposit codes, contact number of its officials and the enlisted businesses.
Chief coordinator of sustainable development goals under the prime minister’s office Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the apps at a programme held at Institute of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka.
NBR chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan also attended the programme presided over by LTU commissioner Md Matiur Rahman.
Mosharraf said that the revenue collection target set at Tk 2,96,000 crore for the tax authority for the next fiscal year 2018-2019 was a big challenge.
He, however, expressed optimism to achieve the target.
Matiur said that the mobile application could be downloaded from Google play store in any android phone. Taxpayers will be able to avail different services through the app to be connected with the LTU officials directly.
British American Tobacco Bangladesh Chairman Golam Mainuddin and ACI Group chairman Anis Ud Dowla, among others, spoke at the programme.
LTU-VAT deputy commissioner Bodiuzzaman Munshi gave a presentation of proposed changes in VAT measures in the budget for FY 2018-19 at the programme.
