Bangladesh Bank on Monday asked all banks to ensure uninterrupted transaction through automated teller machine, point of sales, e-payment gateway and mobile financial services during Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on June 16 or June 17.
The BB issued a circular to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all scheduled banks to ensure supply of adequate money though their ATMs.
It asked the banks to notify clients of any sort of transaction from their accounts by SMS, create awareness among the clients on electronic payments and to ensure safety measures so that clients remain safe from any sort of harassment.
It also asked the banks to restore services in the quickest possible time in case of any disruption and maintain security of the ATMs round the clock.
The BB asked the banks to create awareness among the merchants and clients so that any sort of forgery though POS could be prevented.
For online e-payment gateway, banks were asked to keep two-factor authentication system in service for the card-not-present transaction.
