Opposition MPs continue criticising Muhith

Opposition lawmakers on Monday continued criticising finance minister AMA Muhith for failing to check plundering of the country’s banking sector.

Among them Jatiya Party lawmakers, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Fakhrul Imam came down hard on the finance minister while taking part in the discussion on supplementary budget for 2017-18 fiscal in the parliament.

Firoz Rashid said the finance minister would have to face court for protecting the bank looters.

Fakhrul Imam told the parliament that the finance minister, Bangladesh Bank governor and bankers held meetings for taking decision regarding the banking sector which was in miserable condition.

The finance minister did not make any comment on the lawmakers’ grievance.

On Sunday, the opposition MPs began criticising the finance minister over the same issue.
