Garment factory owner commits suicide after failing to pay debts

A garment factory owner allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Fatullah in Narayanganj on Saturday, after failing to pay a large amount of debt.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Matin, 47, son of late Abdul Jalil, of Daulatpur in Kushtia.
Matin hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his room in Majdair Pakapool area around 10:00am, said Sorfuddin Ahmed, additional superintendent of the district police.
Police recovered a suicide note from his room, he said.
In the note, he wrote about his frustration over the failure of paying the debts worth of Tk 2.5 crore, he added.
The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
