Police arrested 31 alleged drug traders and recovered various types of narcotic items in the city's Khilgaon area on Saturday.
Motijheel division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted special anti-narcotics drives in Khilgaon areas, including Taltola and Nani para, from 10:00am which continued till 2:30pm.
During the drives, the police arrested 23 drug traders, who were wanted by police in six cases, and seven were listed drug traders under Khilgaon police station, while the other one named as Sohel was wanted by Teknaf police station in a drug related case, said deputy commissioner (Motihjeel division) Anwar Hossain.
The police also detained seven more suspected drug abusers and traders during the drive. If found innocent, they will be released after scrutiny, the DC (Motohjeel) said.
The law enforcers also recovered 600 Yaba pills, 2 kgs of hemp and 10 bottles of Phensedyl during the drives.
