All parties to contest next polls even if BNP boycotts: Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that all political parties will contest the next general election even if the Bangladesh Nationalist Party refrains from contesting it.

After attending a seminar organised by Awami League subcommittee on forest and environment at National Museum to mark World Environment Day, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minster, told reporters that they are sincerely wanting for holding an inclusive election.

‘All the political parties have started their preparations for taking part in the next general election,’ Quader said.

He called on the BNP leaders to take part in the next general election shunning their politics of anarchy.

Dhaka University teacher ASM Maksud Kamal readout keynote paper at the seminar chaired by the subcommittee chairman Khandaker Bazlul Haque.

The AL presidium member Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, joint general secretary Abdur Rahman, publicity and publication secretary Hasan Mahmud, DU pro-vice-chancellor Nasrin Ahmad, forest  and environment secretary Delwar Hossain, central committee members Ramong Areng, Mrufa Akter Poppy and others took part in the discussion.
