Chittagong Metropolitan Police commissioner Md Iqbal Bahar on Saturday said if we could destroy the sources of drugs, it would be easier to curb drug abuse in the country.
CMP commissioner said if we could stop the supply of drugs in 10 spots, it would not be spread in 10,000 other places of the country.
If the sources could not be identified and demolished, the anti-drug drives would not bring any success, he said these addressing at a drug destroying programme which was held in front of CMP office.
Among the damaged drugs, 15 lakh 38,500 were yaba tablets, 9 kilo 800 grams were marijuana.
At least 123 people were killed in controversial anti-drug drives since the government started the crackdown on May 18.
Human rights activists raised question over the killings following complaints from the victims’ families.
