Popular actress Tazin Ahmed was buried in capital’s Banani graveyard on Wednesday beside her father Kamal Uddin Ahmed.
Tazin’s namaz-e-janaja was held after zuhr prayers at Azad Mosque located in Gulshan.
Earlier Tazin’s dead body was kept at Anandabari Shooting House in Uttara. Peers, friends and well wishers paid their last respects to the actress.
Tazi Ahmed died suffering cardiac arrest at 4:35 pm on Tuesday afternoon at Regent Hospital in Uttara. She was 43.
She has left behind her ailing mother Dilara Jolly to mourn her.
Tazin completed her post-graduation from mass communication and journalism department of Dhaka University.
She was an actress, TV anchor, director and playwright.
Tazin made her small screen debut in 1996 through the single episode TV play Shesh Dekha Shekh Noy, which was written by Dilara Jolly and directed by Sheikh Niyamat Ali.
Tazin wrote more than 12 plays including Briddhashram, Anur Ekdin, Ek Akasher Taara, Shampurak and others. Besides, she directed a number of TV plays like Jatak and Jogphol.
She also tried her hand at theatre. She joined theatre troupe Aranyak Natya Dal in 2000 and was a member of the troupe until her death.
