Four lawyers on Thursday met Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia her in old Dhaka Central Jail to discuss six cases in which she had been officially considered as arrested.
‘We have elaborately discussed with Madam [Khaleda] about those cases’ said Supreme Court lawyer Khandker Mahbub Hossain after coming out from the jail.
AJ Mohammad Ali, Masud Ahmed Talukder and Sanaullah Mia were the three other lawyers to meet Khaleda inside the jail.
They entered the jail at Nazimuddin Road around 4:00 pm and stayed there for about one hour.
The four-member Appellate Division of Supreme Court, headed by the chief justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Tuesday upheld the four-month interim bail granted to Khaleda by the High Court on March 12.
A special court in Dhaka on February 8 sentenced Khaleda to five years in jail in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
