Three killed in Sirajganj road crash

At least three people including a college teacher were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Tarash in Sirajganj on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Gopinath Sarkar, 40, son of Rabindranath Sarkar at Bhangura in Pabna, also professor of Shajadpur Maulana Saifuddin Yahiya Degree College in Pabana, Sohag Hossain, 22, son of Dulal Shekh at Tarash, also a student of Salanga Degree College, and Renuka Khatun, 38, wife of Abdul Mannan at village Ambariya of Tarash.

Tarash thana officer-in-charge Mustafizur Rahman said the accident took place around 7:15am when a bus hit a human hauler at Khalkula of Tarash, leaving Gopinath Sarkar dead on the spot and six other passengers of the human hauler injured.

Sohag died on the way to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital while Renuka succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, he said.

The police seized the bus and the human hauler.
