BNP rejects KCC polls results

Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders on Wednesday announced that they rejected the results of recently concluded mayoral election of Khulna City Corporation bringing allegations of widespread vote rigging and irregularities.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at a news briefing at the party central office in Dhaka.

The party leaders also demanded resignation of the chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda.

Ruling Awami League-backed candidate Talukdar Abdul Khaleq has been elected new mayor of Khulna city defeating BN-backed candidate Nazrul Islam Manju.
