Recitation troupe Kalparup organised a recitation programme marking the Mother’s Day at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library on Monday.

Artistes of the organisation recited poems glorifying motherhood at the show titled ‘Janani Mrinmoyi’ penned by leading poets like Rabindranath Tagore, Humayun Azad, Shuvo Dasgupta, Mihir Musaki, Aditya Anik and Asad Mannan.

Umme Hani Shoily began the show reciting Tagore’s Mone Pore. Moniruzzan Ratul recited Mihir Musaki’s Matrimangal to the delight of the audience.

SM Jobair Uddin, Mukta Shaha and Nazmul Ahsan Torun respectively recited Humayun Azad’s Golamer Garvadharini, Shuvo Dasgupta’s Jonmodin and Aditya Anik’s Mitthabadi Maa.

Besides, Kazi Ayon and Nilufar Yeasmin Happy also recited poems at the programme.

‘We organised the programme to pay tribute to motherhood. I hope the audience enjoyed the poems presented at the programme.’ said organising secretary of Kalparup Shaon Hasnat, adding that recitation troupes these days are struggling to organise shows.

‘We organise five recitation programmes every year. However, it is becoming difficult for troupes like Kalparup to organise programmes regularly without sponsors,’ he added.
