IUB organises Rabindro Utsab

A troupe performs at a Tagore Festival organised by IUB.

To celebrate the 157 birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Independent University, Bangladesh, in association with cultural organisation Shadhona, organised a two-day Rabindro Utsab at the IUB auditorium, in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
The festival titled ‘Alor Paane Praner Chola’ featured music and dance presentations by popular and up-and-coming artistes.
Artistes of the dance troupes Kolpotoru and Shadhona presented dance recitals while Udoyon singers rendered songs.
Samina Husain Prema, Mou Das, Munmun Ahmed and Abu Nayeem presented solo dance recitals while Tanjina Toma
and Mehnaz Karim sang songs.
Sharmin Shathi Islam Moyna and Jibon Chowdhury rendered Tagore songs and Nazrul Sangeet.
Chittagong Independent University’s board of trustees chairman Towhid Samad, eminent dancer and also artistic director of Shadhona Lubna Marium and renowned singer Khairul Anam Shakil were present at the inauguration ceremony of the festival while IUB vice chancellor professor M Omar Rahman spoke on the concluding session.
Rabindro Utsab was enjoyed by many revered audiences.
