Turongomi to perform in Philippines

Local dance troupe Turongomi Repertory Dance Theatre is going to participate in a five-day international dance festival which begins at Dumaguete city in the Philippines from today.
Besides Torungomi, dance troupes from Philippines, South Korea, UK, Hongkong, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Brunei, Japan, Russia, Turkey and Taiwan will perform at the festival organised by commission on higher education and the department of education of Philipinnes.
Turongomi will stage its productions Anamika Sagorkonna, Nondini and Forever at the festival titled ‘Dance Xchange: International Dance Festival 2018.’ Besides, Artistic director of the troupe Pooja Sengupta will conduct a workshop at the festival.
Six Turongomi artistes Pooja Sengupta, Susmita Lopa, Md Farhad Ahmed, Kazi Raihan, Md Hasan Uddin and Brishti Bepari will perform in the festival.
‘It is always an honour to represent Bangladesh at international dance festivals’, Pooja told New Age.
The festival will end on April 30.
