Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed along with a high-level business delegation on Tuesday left Dhaka for Cambodia to attend a bilateral meeting with the business leaders of the Southeast Asian country scheduled to be held on today (Wednesday).
Cambodia commerce minister Pan Sorasak will led the business delegation of their side, said a press release issued by the International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh business delegation include ICC Bangladesh president Mahbubur Rahman, vice-president Rokia Afzal Rahman, Azim Group managing director Mohammad Fazlul Azim, Uttara Group of Companies chairman Matiur Rahman, Shohagpur Textile Mills Limited managing director Abdul Hai Sarker, The Merchants Limited managing director Mohd Arshad Ali, Plummy Fashions Limited managing director Md Fazlul Hoque, Bengal Shipping Line Ltd chairman Mohammed Abdul Awal, ICC Bangladesh secretary general Ataur Rahman and general manager Ajay Bihari Saha.
Bangladesh ambassador to Thailand and Cambodia Saida Muna Tasneem will also join the meeting.
Tofail will also inaugurate ICC workshop on ‘International Trade Finance and Development of Global Value Chains’ at Phnom Penh, capital of the country.
ICC Bangladesh, Trade, Training and Research Institute under commerce ministry of Cambodia, Institute of Banking and Finance of Cambodia and Asian Development Bank (ADB) is jointly organising the workshop to be held during 25-27 April.
Some 140 participants mainly bankers from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar will attend at the workshop.
The delegation is expected to return Dhaka on April 29.
