Pro-AL teacher to observe strike at JU today

A faction of pro-Awami League teacher led by former vice-chancellor Professor Sharif Enamul Kabir of Jahangirnagar University will observe daylong strike on the campus today suspending all classes and examinations in protest against the violation of the university act.
Professor Amir Hussain, spokesperson of Bangabandhur Adarsha O Muktijuddher Chetonay Bishwasi Pragatishil Sikkakh Samaj, confirmed it.
The faction at a press release claimed that the vice-chancellor of the university pulled out nine hall provosts recently which was illegal and violation of the university acts.
The faction alleged the university act stated that syndicate meeting will be held in every month but the present VC did not call any syndicate meeting in last three months
while the VC called off the last syndicate which was scheduled to be held on April 12.
They will also declare new programmes through a press conference today around 4:00pm, the release added.
