The police on Sunday detained a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami in Satkania on charges of involvement in carrying out acts of sabotage on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway.
The detained was identified as Mohiuddin, a Jamaat-e-Islami leader who had been absconding for long.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Satkhania police led by its officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam detained Mohiuddin at village Sadaha of Satkania around 12:00pm.
The OC said that Mohiuddin was wanted in four cases filed over his involvement in carrying out acts of sabotage Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in 2014.
He would be produced before the court today, OC said.
