JP, if in power, will not send anyone to jail: Ershad

Jatiya Party president Hossain Muhammad Ershad on Saturday said that Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party would be safe if his party would form government as he would not send anybody to jail.
Addressing the executive council of the party’s Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions at Bogra Parjatan Motel, he also claimed that he served jail term without doing anything offensive.
Claiming himself to be the most senior politician of the country, Ershad, also special envoy of the prime minister, said that now his only target was forming the government in the next general election.
He said that a large number educated youths were without job as they could not afford to give bribe.
The deprived youths were now taking drugs and drugs like Yaba were now available everywhere, he said adding that the financial sector was facing serious anarchy as the reserve fund of Bangladesh Bank was stolen.He said that corrupt people built second homes in Malaysia and Canada and they would leave the country if the government would ever change.
He asked the party activists to make its March 24 rally in the capital a success.
JP central and local leaders also spoke on the occasion.
