Ninety-three tonnes of Indian steel pipes were transited to Tripura through Akhaura land port under transit facility on Wednesday.
An Indian vessel MV-3 loaded with 556 tonnnes steel pipes reached Ashuganj port on March 1 and 93.43 tonnnes of the steel were transported to Tripura on Wednesday morning on five lorries.
Clearing and forwarding agent of the goods, Md Akter Hossain, said the consignment went Tripura after payment of transit charges and completing necessary procedure.
Tk 192.22 has been charged per tonne of steel, he said adding that the remaining goods will be sent later.
