Six bodies recovered after two days

Local people recovered six bodies from near Charmonai Launch Ghat of River Kirtankhola on Friday, two days after a passenger trawler capsized there.
Locals saw the bodies floating in the river between Friday noon and evening and brought them to Charmonai Mahfil premises.
The trawler capsized on Wednesday adjacent to the area when it was on its way to Charmonai from Charbaria under Barisal Sadar, locals and police said.
Barisal River Port thana officer-in-charge Belal Hossain said that the bodies of Shah Ali, 28, and Zakir Hossain Dildar, 30, of Gazipur, and Badsha Dhali, 65, of Munshiganj, were recovered while identities of three other deceased could not be known till evening.
The police said that the capsized trawler anchored behind a launch to take passengers.
Suddenly the vessel leant to one side and capsized when another trawler hit it from the back.
Several people went missing after the accident but the number could not be ascertained, locals and police said.
Following capsize, Barisal fire service and civil defence members in vain conducted a rescue operation.
