Comilla boy loses hands in crude bomb blast

A college student was injured in a crude bomb explosion at Nazira Bazar Goshnagar in Burichong upazila of Comilla early Thursday.

The injured was identified as Riazul Islam, a student of Comilla City College.

The blast occurred in a ground floor room of his grandfather's four-storey house where Riazul and his cousin Sohag used to live, said Md Shah Abid Hossain, superintendent of Comilla police after visiting the spot around 10:00pm.

He said that Riazul lost both his hands in the blast that shattered the door and two windows of the room.

After the explosion, locals rushed in and rescued the injured. He was being treated under police custody.

The police detained Sohag in connection with the blast.
