Tamim survives through a review
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal made a successful review after being adjudged leg-before against India on Thursday. In the third ball of the fifth over, Tamim was hit on his pads after he tried to play a flick-shot on seven. He was given out straightway but the southpaw took immediate decision to call for a review. The ball pitched outside leg and there was no contact with bat and the third umpire had no hesitation to call him not-out. Tamim struck two fine fours in the next two deliveries but failed to use his second life properly as he was caught at short fine leg in the final ball of the over after scoring 15 off 16 deliveries.
Raina sloppy at fielding
Indian cricketer Suresh Raina is undoubtedly one of the best fielders in the world and is known for taking acrobatic catches in the field. But on Thursday against Bangladesh, he could not justify his name as he dropped a sitter given by Liton Das. In the third ball of the seventh over, Liton, who was on seven tried to play a shot over pacer Vijay Shankar’s head but could not time it very well. Raina who was fielding at mid-off ran towards his right to complete the catch and reached the right place before it landed. But much to everyone’s surprise, the 31-year old failed to grasp the ball, which gave Liton another life. Liton went on to score 34 off 30 deliveries for the Tigers in the match.
Fizz gets his man
From the beginning of pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s international career, Indian opener Rohit Sharma is his favourite victim as he dismissed the player four times out of six occasions in any form of international cricket. The ‘Fizz’ continued his impressive record against the right-handed batsman on Thursday as he got his man for the fifth time in his career. India was chasing low total of 140 runs against the Tigers and Bangladesh were desperately looking for a breakthrough initially in the innings. In the third ball of the fourth over, Rohit tried to play a late cut off Fizz but only got an inside edge which eventually broke his stumps. Rohit was dismissed after scoring 17 off 13 deliveries and Fizz got his man for the second time in three meetings in Twenty20 internationals.
