Popular bands entertained youths at a concert held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in the capital on Wednesday.
The concert was jointly organised by Young Bangla and the Center for Research and Information, for the fourth consecutive time, celebrating inclusion of founding president of the country Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic March 7 speech in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.
Popular bands like Powersurge, Arbovirus, Shunno, Nemesis, Cryptic Fate, Lalon, Chirkutt and Artcell performed at the event.
The concert began with a group rendition of the famous patriotic song Purbo digonte surjo utheche.
Powersurge presented popular patriotic song Maa go bhabna keno. The band also rendered a number of its original songs like Auprostut juddho, Agnisnan and Mitther agrason and covered popular songs of James like Sultana bibiana and Beder meye josna.
Alternative rock band Arbovirus rendered the song Amra korbo joy and presented their original numbers like Jalo agun jalo, Shohor, Hariye jao and Omanush.
Shunno performed songs like Cholo aj phirey jai godhulir opaare, Shoto asha, Joy Bangla Banglar joy, Sonadia bandhaiyasi ghor and Shono jonogon.
A promo of a graphic novel which was published on the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was screened at the venue.
Popular band Nemesis presented songs like Rokto diye naam likhechhi, Bir, Kobe and Ghuri.
Heavy metal band Cryptic Fate, folk band Lalon, Chirkutt and progressive rock band Artcell entertained the crowd presenting their popular numbers, patriotic songs and others.
Besides, a video clip showing UNESCO chief announcing the inclusion of founding president of the country Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic March 7 speech in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register was screened at the venue.
