Singers of Bangladesh Loko Sangeet Parishad presented songs composed by Indra Mohan Rajbanshi, who received Ekushey Padak this year, on Sunday at Music and Dance Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The singers presented two group and 16 solo songs at the show.
BLSP artistes rendered songs like Hate mathe ghate bate, Asol shaddu hoila mon hoilire nokol O go tonar mao, Amar dhukkher din, Moner majhe moner manush and others at the programme.
Besides, Bangladesh Loko Sangeet Parishad honoured eight eminent citizens who received Ekushey Padak in 2018 at the show. The honoured Sheikh Sadi Khan, Sujoy Sham, Indra Mohan Rajbanshi, Khurshid Alam, Minu Haque, Motiul Haque Khan, Kalidas Karmakar and Ilias Kanchan.
Ekushey Padak and Independence Day Award winner and founder director general (rtd) of Bangladesh National Museum thespian Dr Enamul Haque and World Intellectual Property Organisation consultant Abdul Hannan were present as guests at the programme. Folk singer Akramul Islam presided over the event.
