Police in Barisal rescued a brutally tortured  minor domestic help from Bazar Road area in the city and detained three persons allegedly involved with the crime.

The rescued victim is Ashfiya, 13, given first aid treatment at the victim support centre managed by Kotwali police station.

Victim Ashfiya told journalists that she was working as  a domestic help at the residence of one Jewel Ahmed for past two years.

Jewel's wife Dinu Begum and another domestic help Ayesha, 14, brutally tortured her regularly.

‘They tided me with chain and give me little food. Sometimes they pushed needle on my fingers. To save life, I managed to flee Monday morning and with the help of local people informed police,’ the victim said.

SM Ruhul Amin, commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police said the victim was tortured brutally by her employer and she managed to flee on Monday morning.

Police later rescued the victim from her hideout and detained the accused.

Barisal Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner Sahanaj Parvin said police detained the accused three and till filing of this report no case was lodged.

But police started investigation and has taken the matter seriously.
