At least 11 people sustained burn injuries in a devastating fire that broke out at Rupali Bangla Jute Mills in Biral of Dinajpur on Tuesday.
The injured were admitted to different local hospital.
Police said the fire broke at the mill at around 3:30pm and spread across the factory in minutes. At that time around 1500 workers were working there.
Four firefighting untis from Dinajpur, Bochaganj and Pirganj immediately rushed and doused the flames at around 7:00pm.
The fire fighters said they could not conduct rescue drive because of severe heat.
But Dinajpur fire service deputy director Aktar Hanif Khan said none got stranded inside the factory.
The factory owner Abdul Latif, also vice-president of Biral upazila unit Awami League, said there were raw jute and machinery worth Tk 300 core in the factory.
Aktar Hanif Khan said there was no news of death in the fire and they were yet to ascertain the reason of breaking out fire.
