Franco-Iranian singer Ariana Vafadari and her troupe performed at a musical concert titled ‘Mystic Music Evening’ held at Zilla Shilpakala Academy, Chittagong on Sunday.
Based in Paris, Vafadari — a mezzo-soprano — has performed in notable opera roles, concerts as well as international festivals.
Vafadari was accompanied by Haroun Teboul, Habib Meftah Boushehri, Mohamed Hafsi, and Julien Carton on different musical instruments at the show.
Vafadari entertained the audience rendering ancient Gathas, the sacred hymns attributed to Zoroaster, who is traditionally regarded as the founder of ancient monotheistic religion Zoroastrianism in ancient Iran approximately 3500 years ago.
Alliance Francaise de Chittagong and Zilla Shilpakala Academy, jointly organised the concert.
The event was supported by the France embassy, Ispahani Group of Companies and T K group.
Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Md Zillur Rahman Chowdhury and Alliance Francaise de Chittagong director Selvam Thorez, among others, were present at the concert.
