Two bullet-hit robbers held in Chittagong

Police arrested two bullet-hit robbers after a reported gunfight in Ambagan area under Khulshi police station in Chittagong city on Sunday night.

The arrestees were identified only as Sheikh Farid and Yusuf.

Humayun Kabir, additional superintendent of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, said being tipped-off that a gang of robbers was taking preparation to commit robbery in the area, a team of police conducted a drive there.

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on police personnel, prompting them to retaliate that triggered a gunfight, leaving the duo bullet-wounded.

Later, police arrested them while others managed to flee away.
