Shamsuzzaman Khan honoured

Shamsuzzaman Khan receives Channel-i-Muktadhara Lifetime Achievement Award at a programme held at Channel-i office in Tejgaon on Saturday.

Folklorist and also Bangla Academy director general Shamsuzzaman Khan was honoured with Channel-i-Muktadhara Lifetime Achievement Award at a programme held at Channel-i office in Tejgaon on Saturday.
Shamsuzzaman Khan received a crest, certificate and token money at the programme in presence of freedom fighter and also a writer Dr Nurunnabi, writer Rahat Khan and Channel-i managing director Faridur Reza Sagar, among others.
The awards ceremony was presided over by poet Asad Chowdhury.
New York-based cultural organisation Muktadhara introduced the award last year to honour cultural personalities of the country.
Besides awards ceremony, the event also featured a discussion. The discussants spoke on life and works of Shamsuzzaman Khan at the programme.
