Chhayanaut celebrated the advent of spring through a cultural show held at its auditorium in Dhanmondi on Friday.
Chhayanaut students rendered songs glorifying spring penned by three great bards of Bangla literature Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and Atul Prasad Sen and also presented dance recitals syncronised with the songs of the great poets.
The programme began with a group dance recital synchronised with Tagore’s popular song Ohey grihobashi.
Chhayanaut students in chorus presented Tagore song Aji dokhino duar khola to the delight of the audience.
In solo presentations, Laisa Binte Kamal rendered Tagore song Mor bina othey, Sabat Mustafa sang Tagore’s Jodi taarey nai chini go and Souranta Flora sang Nazrul song Notun paatar nupur baajey.
Besides, Chhayanaut students in chorus presented a number of songs glorifying spring like Atul Prasad Sen’s song Mora nachi phuley phuley, Nazrul song Basanta elo elo re and others.
The programme ended with group dance recital synchronised with the Nazrul song Aji dol phaguner dol legechhe.
A large audience enjoyed the show.
