4-day poster show begins at Zainul Gallery

Renowned artists watch posters at Zainul Gallery on Monday.

A four-day poster show featuring posters made by renowned local and Indian artists began at Zainul Gallery of faculty of fine arts of Dhaka University on Monday.
Eminent artist Rafiqun Nabi inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest. Bangladesh Poetry Council president Muhammad Samad, faculty of fine arts dean Nisar Hossain and graphic design department professor Mamun
Kaiser Chowdhury were present as special guests at the inauguration programme.
Graphic design department chairman Reza Ashad Al Huda Anupom presided over the programme.
The show, which has been organised by graphic design department of FFA, features 95 posters depicting diverse issues by eminent local artists like Quamrul Hassan, Qayyum Chowdhury, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Tarun Ghosh, Shishir Bhattacharjee, Sabyasachi Hazra and Indian artists like OC Ganguly, Krishnendu Chaki and others.
The displayed posters at the show have been donated to the faculty of fine arts by Indian economist-researcher Shuvendu Dasgupta.
‘I am happy because Shuvendu Dasgupta decided to donate his collection of posters made by Bangladeshi and Indian artists to faculty of fine arts of Dhaka University’, said Nisar Hossain.
Besides, Shuvenda Dasgupta’s book ‘Dui Bangla Shilpider Anka Bangla Poster’ was also launched at the programme.
The exhibition will remain open till February 22.
