Bangladesh called up batsman Mohammad Mithun in their squad for Thursday’s first Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka after senior players Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim complained of fresh injury.
Tamim complained of a muscle pain in his left hand while Mushfiq refrained from training on Wednesday with an injury in his wrist in right hand.
Bangladesh are already without injured regular skipper Sakib al Hasan, who failed to recover sufficiently from a finger injury that he suffered during the tri-series one-day tournament final in January.
Batsman Mahmudullah will lead Bangladesh in the first Twenty20 internationals in Sakib’s absence.
The second Twenty20 international of the series will be held in Sylhet on Sunday.
