Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna on Friday said the government should find out the perpetrators of question leaks.
Addressing a discussion on the impact of question leaks on the country’s education sector, Manna, the chief guest of the programme, demanded the authorities disclose the identity of the people, who were found guilty in such offences.
‘Several persons were arrested over the past few days for their alleged involvement in question leaks and now the government should disclose their identities to us,’ he said at the programme organised by Nagarik Chhatra Oikya at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
Chhatra Oikya president Nazmul Hasan, who presided over the programme, said it was shocking that education minister Nurul Islam Nahid was yet to quit his job as he failed to ‘tackle the menace.’
At least 10 persons, including five teachers, have been arrested for their reported involvement in question leaks since the beginning of SSC exams on February 1.
The government on February 4 formed a high-powered committee to monitor and investigate the allegations of question leak in the ongoing SSC exams.
Nagarik Oikya leader Jahidur Rahman alleged that the government perhaps was on a plan to destroy the education sector.
Among others, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal faction general secretary Abdul Malek Ratan was addressed at the programme.
