The new Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain in his 1st directive requested Supreme Court judges not to leave the court premises without informing him, SC registrar general’s office sources told New Age.
They said that the Chief Justice made the oral order Sunday.
The Chief Justice told his colleagues that they could inform him on intercom in his chamber.
It happened while SC judges felicitated the newly appointed Chief Justice at the judges’ conference room.
SC officials said that the Chief Justice reminded his colleagues to be punctual as many of them do not strictly maintain the court hours: 10.30AM to 1.15PM and 2PM to 4.15.
Non-maintenance of court hours was a misconduct on the part of SC judges, under the 39-point of code of conduct for the judges, framed by former Chief Justice SK Sinha.
