Cultural and theatre activists have come forward to help ailing freedom fighter and sculptor Ferdousi Priyabhashini.
Priyabhashini, who is suffering from multiple ailments like diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, needs a lot of money for her treatment.
Ferdousi Priyabhashini is in need of long-term treatment. Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and cultural affairs ministry have donated funds for treatment of Priyabhashini, said thespian M Hamid.
Theatre troupe Loko Natyadal (Banani) is going to stage a special charity show of its popular play Konjush to help Priyabhashini at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today.
The proceeds from the show will be donated for treatment of Priyabhashini.
Konjush, an adaptation of French playwright Moliere’s The Miser, has been adapted by Tariq Anam Khan and directed by Kamroon Noor Chowdhury.
‘Konjush is a very popular production. Therefore, we have decided to stage a special charity show of the play to raise funds for treatment of ailing freedom fighter and sculptor Ferdousi Priyabhashini. We hope that other troupes and organisations will also come forward to help Priyabhashini’, said Kamroon Noor Chowdhury.
