Young artistes recited poems penned by leading poets at a programme held at Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday.
Artistes recited poems glorifying Bangla language penned by poets like Rabindranath Tagore, Atul Prasad Sen, Abu Zafar Muhammad Obaidullah, Jasimuddin, Humayun Azad, Mahadev Saha and others at the programme titled ‘Bidroher Roudrodin’, which was organised by recitation organisation Abritti Mela.
Artistes of Abritti Mela recited poems like Banglar Mati Banglar Jol of Rabindranath Tagore, Ekusher Gaan penned by Jasimuddin, Bangla Basha of Humayun Azad and others.
February reminds us of the language movement. Therefore, artistes recited poems glorifying Bangla language and language movement at the event, said Mahidul Islam, chief of the organisation. A large audience enjoyed the show. ‘The programme featured a rich collection of poems glorifying our mother tongue Bangla and language movement. I hope more organisations will organise similar programmes this month,’ Sumaiya Kamal, an audience member, told New Age.
