A four-day housing and real estate fair is going to be launched on Thursday in Chittagong.
Chittagong Development Authority chairman Abdus Salam will inaugurate the ‘REHAB Chittagong Fair 2018’ ogranised by the Chittagong branch of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh at Radisson Blu Bay View Hotel.
Abdul Kauiam Chowdhury, chairman of REHAB Chittagong, who is also a vice-president of REHAB, said these at a press
conference at Banquet Hall of Chittagong Club on Tuesday.
He called on the government to create a Tk 20,000 crore ‘housing loan’ fund to facilitate the low income people with 5 per cent interest.
Kauiam urged the government to take necessary measures to ensure single digit registration fee for the consumers.
At present, buyers have to pay 16 per cent of the apartment price as the registration fee.
REAHB directors Mohammad Didarul Hoque and Mohammed Omar Faruque and convener ASM Abdul Gaffer Meyazi were present, among others, at the press conference.
There will be 83 stalls in the fair. A total 21 organisations are co-sponsoring the fair. GPH Ispat Limited is sponsoring ticket counter and entry ticket.
The inaugural ceremony of the fair will be sponsored by Royal Cement Limited.
The fair will remain open for all from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
The closing ceremony of the four-day fair will be held on 15 February.
