Afzal hosts commemorative programme on Syed Haq

Actor-director Afzal Hossain has compiled, planned and anchored a commemorative programme titled ‘Hrid Kolomer Taney’ to pay tribute to poet-playwright Syed Shamsul Haq, who died recently.
The programme will be aired on Bangladesh Television at 8:35pm today.
‘Diverse facades of Syed Shamsul Haq’s creative life will be brought in the one-and-a- half-hour show. It has been designed to let the viewers know why Syed Shamsul Haq is called Sabyasachi (the versatile),’ said Afzal Hossain.
Syed Shamsul Haq’s contributions to diverse fields like poetry, theatre, music, film and fine arts will be discussed by the late poet-playwright’s friends and fellows at the programme, besides recitation and rendition of Syed Shamsul Haq’s poems and songs.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor, actor Razzak, singer Ferdausi Rahman, thespian Aly Zaker, Ramendu Majumdar, Nasiruddin Yousuff, poet Asad Chowdhury, writer Anisul Haq and Faridur Reza Sagor will discuss Syed Shamsul Haq’s achievements.
Eminent singers Andrew Kishore, Fahmida Nabi, Samina Chowdhury, Dinat Jahan, Konal and Muhin will present songs penned by Syed Shamsul Haq.
Syed Shamsul Haq died on September 27 in a Dhaka city hospital and was buried the day after in Kurigram.
