Fourteen leading and promising artists are displaying 23 artworks at a group show underway at Duaree Art Cafe in Dhanmondi.
The exhibition features diverse medium artworks like acrylic on canvas by Syed Abdullah Khalid, Nasima Khanom Queenie, Tajuddin Ahmed, Razwanur Rahman and Rashid Khan, etching and aquatint by Monirul Islam, oil on paper and canvas by Fokhrul Islam and Mohammad Iqbal, serigraph by Aminul Islam, woodcut by Anisuzzaman Anis, lithograph by Kamruzzaman Sagor, ink drawing by Abdus Shakoor Shah, mixed media on paper by Sultan Ishtiaque and watercolour painting by Shahanoor Mamun.
Prominent architect and art critic professor Shamsul Wares and former ambassador and foreign secretary Waliur Rahman jointly inaugurated the show. The group show, curated by Takir Hossain, has been dedicated to artists Aminul Islam, Syed Abdullah Khalid and Fokhrul Islam, who have passed away in the recent years.
Nasima Khanom Queenie has depicted youthfulness in her acrylic on canvas work, dominated by green.
Syed Abdullah Khalid’s acrylic on canvas work shows flowers of different colours like yellow, violet, green and others.
The watercolour painting by Shahanoor Mamun shows a trawler full of passengers crossing a river.
The displayed artworks are available for purchase.
Duaree Art Cafe, a restaurant-cum-art gallery, was established in Dhanmondi with an aim to promote local artists and their artworks.
The exhibition will remain open till February 16.
