3 entrepreneurs get Talented Entrepreneurs Award

Three entrepreneurs on Monday received Talented Entrepreneurs Award 2017 jointly given by Bangla business daily Bonik Barta and public research organisation Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed handed over the awards to Khan’s Kitchen managing director Afroza Khan, Jessore-based Modina Metal Industries’ owner Md Faruque Hossain and Shohoz.com managing director Maliha Meher Quadir at a programme held at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital.
Afroza started her business in 2017 and established the kitchen with the aim of supplying hygienic food with affordable prices to the working people in the city.
She generated a good number of employments in her venture.
Faruque, who was an importer of Motorcycle parts, set up an industry for producing wheel and spokes of bicycles in 2010 and the factory went into production in 2015.
He generated employment for 150 people in his factory.
Maliha introduced country’s first online ticketing platform Shohoz.com in 2014.
Except ticketing for bus and launch, Shohoz.com extended its service for the e-ticket of cinema and cricket match.
This was the fifth version of such award. Robi was the platinum sponsor of the event.
BIDS director general K A S Murshid, Bonik Barta editor Dewan Hanif Mahmud and Robi chief executive officer Mahatab Uddin spoke at the event.
