BSF picks up Bangladeshi

Indian Border Security Force soldiers detained a Bangladeshi cattle trader from Burimari frontier area at Patgram in Lalmonirhat on Monday.
The detained is Mofazzal Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Hanif of village Muglibari under the upazila.
Locals said Mofazzal, along with a few other Bangladeshi cattle traders, trespassed into Indian
territory through Burimari border in the early morning.
A BSF patrol team of BS Bari camp of Cooch Behar saw and opened fire on them at about 4:00am, said Rangpur BGB director Major Monirzzaman.
Mofazzal was shot but others managed to run away, the officer said.
‘We have lodged a strong protest with our Indian counterparts and called for a flag meeting over the incident,’ the BGB director said.
‘But BSF turned down our proposal,’ he added.
