At least four people were killed and 12 were injured in road accidents in Barisal, Bogra, Munshiganj and Magura on Friday.
The New Age correspondent in Barisal reported that one person died on the spot and nine others injured when a passenger bus fell into a roadside ditch at Lalpol area on Kalkini road in Madaripur adjacent to Bhurghata in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kazi Hafiz Uddin, 60, son of the late Mohiuddin Kazi of Dakkhin Gopalpur village in Kalkini upazila, said Kalkini police station officer-in-charge Kripasindhu Bala.
Police said the Sarbik Paribahan bus tried to save a bicycle during getting down to a slope which caused the fatal accident.
The injured were admitted to Kalkini upazila health complex.
The New Age correspondent in Bogra reported that one construction worker died on the spot and two fellow workers injured when an ambulance hit them at a CNG gas station in Gokul under Bogra suburb area at about 9:00am.
The deceased was identified as Zahid Hasan Murad, 36, son of the late Jalal Uddin of Malotinagar Shantibagh area in Bogra.
Bogra police officer-in-charge Kamruzaman Mia said the workers were standing at the station while the driver’s assistant of the ambulance, Md Ranju, had started the vehicle and ran over the workers.
Police arrested Ranju while the driver escaped from the scene and a case was filed against the helper.
The New Age correspondent in Munshiganj reported that a motorcyclist died on the spot and a pedestrian injured when a truck hit the bike at Meer Kadim area on Khader Kona-Meer Kadim road in Munshiganj sadar upazila at about 5:30pm.
The deceased was identified as Md Shohag, 32, from Borguna.
Hatimara police outpost in-charge Saiful Islam Sabuj said Shohag was talking with the pedestrian.

leaving Shohag killed on the spot.
The New Age correspondent in Magura reported that Magura Sadar police constable Amirul Islam, 49, died in a road accident at Alamkhali Ramnagar area in Magura at about 8:00am.
Additional superintendent of police Md Tariqul Islam said Amirul was going to his office from his village home at Rajdharpur in Jhenaidah by a motorcycle.
He hit a truck standing in the middle of the road as he failed to see it in dense fog and died on the spot.
His body was taken to Magura 250-bed Hospital morgue for autopsy.
