The DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh on Sunday elected its fifteen directors for the next two years.
DBAB election commission chairman Harunur Rashid announced the results after a day-long voting where 217 out of the 247 voters cast their votes, a DBAB news release said.
Nineteen candidates vied for the posts.
The elected are: Md Zahirul Islam of Prilink Securities, Sharif Anowar Hossain of Md Shahidullah Securities, Richard D’Rozario of Global Securities, Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin of Modern Securities, Md Sajedul Islam of Shyamol Equity Management, Syed Redwanul Islam of Rasti Securities, Mahbubur Rahman of Thea Securities, Mohammad Ali of DBL Securities, Md Delwar Hossain of Saad Securities, Wali Ul Islam of UniCap Securities, Khwaja Asif Ahmed of Country Stock-Bangladesh, Mostaque Ahmed Sadeque of Investment Promotion Services, Shahed Abdul Khaleque of Shahed Securities, Ahmad Rashid of Rashid Investment Services and Abdul Haque of Royal Green Securities.
The elected directors will take charge of the association at the body’s annual general meeting which will be held on Wednesday. In the AGM, president, senior vice-president and vice-president of the association will also be elected.
The DBAB, which began its journey in 2014 after the demutualisation of the country’s premier bourse on November 21, 2013, was formally incorporated on August 16, 2015 by getting registration from the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms.
Since its incorporation, Ahasanul Islam, the last member-president of the DSE, has been working as its president.
