A two-day theatre festival ended on Saturday in Chittagong city’s Shilpakala Academy with staging of four plays including, A Season in Hell, Hekubar Ahoban, Gonotontrer Khancha and Kingkori.
Nine plays were staged by troupes from Bangladesh and India at the festival organised by Four-dimensional Commemorative Fest commemorating freedom fighter and playwright Sheikh Mozaffar Ahmed.
The festival was inaugurated on Friday by poet and architect Rabiul Hossain. Indian assistant high commissioner Anindya Banarjee, professor Mohit Ul Alam, and professor Mohibul Aziz were also present at the programme.
Following the inauguration ceremony, plays such as Mayamukurer Satya Kahon, Shoytan Ki Sikarokti, Satsumay, Atmabodh, and Birongona were staged.
A seminar on contemporary Bangla drama was also held at the opening day, which was attended by Indian playwright Twarit Mitra from India, Indian poet Syed Hasmat Jalal, and local playwrights like Shishir Dutta, Pradip Dewanjee, Moshiur Rahman Adnan, and others.
