At least 30 students were injured in a clash between two dormitories at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University in Dinajpur early Monday.
Campus sources said two first year students of social science faculty had engaged in an altercation during a class on Sunday morning.
Later, around 9:00pm on the day, students of Zia Hall and Taj Uddin Ahmed Hall engaged in a clash that stemmed from the argument in the morning.
Police brought the situation under control around 11:30pm, said Redwanur Rahim, officer-in-charge of Kotowali Police Station.
Among the injured, 12 were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, from where one was later sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
HSTU proctor Professor Khalid Hossain said an investigation committee has been formed.
