Two persons were reportedly abducted just after they were released on bail from Bandarban prison on Tuesday morning.
A group of unidentified people riding on a microbus picked up the two persons from the front of
the prison, said the family of the persons on Wednesday.
Shamin Mahfuj, 44, and his associate Ismail Hossain, 38, were in jail in connection with an extremism case, their family said.
Bandarban prison jailor Rijia Begum said the
authorities received their bail order on Monday
evening and they were released on Tuesday morning.
‘We are not aware that what happened to them after we released them,’ said Rijia.
Shamin Mahfuj, a father of three little kids, had been living in Chokoria with his family and working in an NGO named SARPV as a documentation and research officer, his family claimed.
