The first elections of the Dhaka Stock Exchange Brokers Association of Bangladesh will be held today to elect 15 directors for the newly-formed organisation.
All the 250 member-brokers of the DSE will be eligible for voting to fulfil the director posts out of 19 candidates.
The candidates are: Mohammad Ali of DBL Securities, Syed Redwanul Islam of Rasti Securities, Masudul Haque of Aries Securities, Kabir Ahmed of Peoples Equities, Md Delwar Hossain of Saad Securities, Sharif Anowar Hossain of
Md Shahidullah Securities, Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin of Modern Securities, Md Zahirul Islam of Prilink Securities, Mostaque Ahmed Sadeque of Investment Promotion Services, Richard D’Rozario of Global Securities, Khwaja Asif Ahmed of Country Stock-Bangladesh, Ahmad Rashid of Rashid Investment Services, Md Sajedul Islam of Shyamol Equity Management, Wali Ul Islam of UniCap Securities, Abdul Haque of Royal Green Securities, Mahbubur Rahman of Thea Securities, M Moazzam Hossain of E-Securities, Dil Afroza Kamal of K-Securities and Consultants, and Shahed Abdul Khaleque of Shahed Securities.
The elected directors will take charge after the annual general meeting where president, senior vice-president and vice-president will be elected by the directors.
The association, which has been working since 2014 after the demutualisation of the country’s premier bourse on November 21, 2013, formally incorporated on August 16, 2015 by getting registration from Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms.
Since the incorporation of the association, Ahasanul Islam, last member-president of the DSE, has been working as its president.
