Nat’l instrumental music fest begins tomorrow

National instrumental music festival featuring participation of around 250 instrumentalists from across the country will begin today at the Nandan Mancha of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Professional artistes from across the country will perform at the 10-day festival, which is the first of its kind, said organisers at a press conference held at the seminar room of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury and directors of different departments of the academy were present at the event.
‘The national instrumental music festival will promote instrumental music and instrumentalists,’ said Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Artistes will present instrumental recitals using musical instruments like flute, dhol, tabla, sitar, sarod, violin and different instruments belonging to ethnic minority communities.
Cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival.
