Bangladesh Television launched a YouTube channel on Monday marking its 53rd founding anniversary.
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was present as the chief guest at the launching ceremony. Information minister Hasanul Haque Inu, Bangladesh Television director general Harun-Or-Rashid and BTV officials were also present at the event.
Following the launching ceremony, the state-run TV channel broadcasted live a cultural programme from its studio in which eminent singers like
Subir Nandi, Farida Parvin, Ferdaus Wahid, Kiran Chandra Roy, Chandana Majumder and Shahnaj Beli performed.
‘The YouTube channel will feature popular BTV programmes from its archive,’ said Haroon-Or-Rashid.
The YouTube channel already contains popular TV series like Kothao Keu Nei, Bahubrihi, Sangsaptak, Eisob Dinratri, Aj Rabibar, said Haroon, adding that other popular programmes would be uploaded soon.
